About Lenexa

Originally bought from the Shawnee Tribes in 1867, Lenexa was established in 1869 and has one of the richest histories of in all of Kansas. The 'Old Town' part of Lenexa is still very much alive and holds multiple festivals every year to celebrate the city and it's history. This helps maintain the small town community feel which is important because Lenexa has grown quite large over the years! Lenexa is one of the larger cities in the Kansas City Metro with nearly 50,000 residents who live in over 19,000 homes spanning a total area of 34.1 square miles. It borders Shawnee to the north and Overland Park to the east and shares a lot of the same characteristics with those cities. A great place for young families to settle down with great schools in the area and a 20 minute commute to downtown.
