About Mission Hills

Mission Hills is a historic upscale neighborhood bordering the Kansas / Missouri State Line in northeast Johnson County. Originally laid out by J.C. Nichols in the early 1920's, the city of Mission Hills was officially founded in 1949. Ranked as the 3rd most affluent neighborhood in the United States by Forbes Magazine, Mission Hills is home to many well known names such as Hallmark founder Donald Hall, Hall of Fame baseball player George Brett, and current TNT broadcaster Kevin Harlan. It's 3,500 or so residents reside in about 1,300 houses. Mission Hills is also home to three of Kansas City's most exclusive country clubs, Indian Hills CC, Mission Hills CC, and Kansas City CC.
